Every home has a story

Every home has a story, just like you do. If the walls could talk, what would they say? A house changes from day to day, year to year, just like you do.  Home Gnome can tell that unique story…

With Home Gnome, you can be confident that you’ll receive a comprehensive & complete inspection report on the same day as the inspection and warm & friendly service. I have a particular knack for noticing the details that often get overlooked. After more than 13 years in construction administration and architecture (with a Master’s degree to boot), Home Gnome understands all aspects of residential construction: roofing, foundations, structure, plumbing and even electrical systems just to name a few.

Although Home Gnome’s specialty is newly constructed houses and condominiums, I also inspect old homes (mid-century is my fave). I provide objective and thorough same-night inspection reports* which include photos, recommendations and maintenance tips. When purchasing a home, Home Gnome can help you uncover your home’s unique story- your home is your biggest investment! Home Gnome is woman-owned, woman-run, with a sense of humor… but I’m serious about your house.

*Morning inspection starts for single-family homes under 2,500 square feet unless noted otherwise.

For Home Buyers

Getting a home inspection is similar to having a mechanic examine a used car you might buy. A mechanic may inspect the car for any conditions that might cause safety problems or result in unexpected expenses for the buyer in the future. It is the same with a home- you want your home to be safe and you don’t want to be surprised by costly problems after the sale. That’s why it is smart to get your home inspected prior to purchasing. A home inspector can assess the systems and condition of the house so that you know you are investing in a sound piece of real estate you can enjoy.

Pre-Sale Home Inspections

Before putting your home on the market, consider having it inspected by a professional home inspector. This will help you troubleshoot any issues potential buyers may find. You can also choose to fix the issues prior to listing or simply be prepared for negotiations with the buyer.
